When i was in middle school i was a big metallica fan.Since then i've adapted to a more "peaceful" exhistance. I've also become somewhat of a bluegrass fan. Listening to that album was like reuniting with an old highschool fling but on more mature grounds. It's kind of a guilty pleasure. I enjoy everything you guys have done and look forward to one day seeing you perform. If you ever get a gig offer in Pittsburgh, please take it!
I've never been a blue grass friend but after my fiance introduced me to "pickin on modest mouse" I have been hooked on your music. I'd love to see you do either a Red Hot Chili Peppers album or a cover some old blues tunes,,,,Howlin wolf (spoonful) or John Lee Hooker.
Well, I'll keep listening any way you go with the music.
I'm glad to know that I'm far from alone in being a fan of both metal and bluegrass. I found the Fade to Bluegrass CD in the rack with Metallica in a big music store in Virginia Beach. I gave it a quick listen, and had to buy it. Since then, everyone I've shared it with has become an instant fan. It's so unlike anything else out there. Unfortunately, I live in Atlanta, and the radio choices are very limited. The only country stations are mainly pop-country, and they don't play bluegrass at all. I can't wait for the second volume of Fade to Bluegrass, and the Ozzy tribute will be joining my collection shortly. Keep up the awesome work!
A friend recommended me your Modest Mouse-covers, since I'm a fan of both them and bluegrass. I was amazed to find how good you guys are! This the best cover-album I have ever heard! Thank you so much for giving me the pleasure of listening to them. I wish you all the best!
I just wanted to say that I am a big metal head and a true bluegrass lover... you guys bring the 2 together very well.. I have bought 3 of your CD's and I plan to buy the "New Tracks CD soon as I've listened to the samples and they sound great. I hope one day to get down south and catch a show someime... I heard your music from www.cmhrecords.com and purchased Fade to Bluegrass and Black and Bluegrass. Great pickin, I myself have just started playing bluegrass inspired by a friend of mine. I'm starting to take lessons from Jimmy Cox also known as "The Banjo Maker" of Cox Banjos. The Tribute stuff gives me a little something I can relate too. Can't wait to hear more.
