Central Florida needs you!
We saw you in Woodstock, GA and LOVED your show. I wanted to buy your Ozzy Osborne tribute music, but didn't see it on your website. Please let me know how I can buy. It's a requested Christmas present!
Thank you!
Any chance you'll be heading out to the Pacific Northwest? I've been enjoying your music for several years now. Would love to see you guys live. Thanks for the great music you create!
Ricky commented on my Station Inn tshirt this afternoon (9/4/21) when we walked into the Publix just east of Rosemary Beach, FL. So I got to meet him and his wife, and chat and hear about his girls (Secret Sisters) and talk Bluegrass, instruments, and bluegrass luminaries.— great fun. Thanks Ricky, I look forward to the next time our paths cross!
Hello to all of you and this is about saying thanks. I moved here to Denver Colorado in June of 2014 to help out my best friend, of what will be 30 years next month (Sept 13th, 1991). I had nothing going for me in Dayton, Ohio then and figured if I ever did have to stand before Saint Peter and explain why I didn't get up and move when my buddy needed me, I might as well not bother getting up at all. He's doing fine now, and as friends are want to do, we both look out for each other and hang out seems like nearly every other day. He's the one who stumbled on 'Rocketman' and sent me the link.
I never could have seen the 4 years of homelessness coming that I encountered here. Zeeky couldn't help me in that, and I was just too daft to understand that even working full time/overtime I would be stuck in the men's shelters trying to prop my own spirits up amongst so many disenfranchised souls and so much negativity. That's where you fellows came in. Laying in my bunk at night surrounded by 280 other men, listening to everything YouTube had to offer on Iron Horse, among some notable others, like Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Rufus Du Sol, Portugal, Nathaniel Rateliff, Iris DeMent, etc. etc., please trust me when I say you guys reminded me of the better part of my Paintsville Kentucky birthplace, my great uncle Hylo Brown, and fueled my head with songs to sing at work everyday. As Willie Nelson puts it, "I didn't come here and I sure as hell ain't leaving", but times got hard enough to understand a mans wanting to, and you were one of the very small but most significant things that helped me get by. So THANK YOU.
Just a few more quick things. You're the only reason I know more Metallica lyrics than most Metallica fans seem to. It's true! LMAO! And like probably too many other Iron Horse fans I have a request. Have you ever thought about covering Michael Kiwanukas' 'Love and Hate', https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMZ4QL0orw0&list=RDaMZ4QL0orw0&start_radio=1
Portugals 'Feel It Still' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Btj3smjIK0M&list=RDaMZ4QL0orw0&index=2 , or The Black Pumas 'Colors' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0G383538qzQ
I love your original stuff and I admire that you do covers immensely because those covers have brought some of my severely bluegrass challenged friends to your doorstep and introduced them to this high art that is uniquely American and indispensable.
Boys, THANK YOU AGAIN. For being. For acknowledging your talents and doing something with them, and being the Bluegrass Kung-Fu Masters of your craft that each and all of you are.
Sincerely, Bunny Edelstein (the artist formerly known as 'Lil Fu Fu')
Love and Peace upon your houses
Hello gents! One of my very good friends introduced me to your album ‘Pickin on Modest Mouse’ and I fell in love with it. We were wondering if we could get a mind blowing cover of ‘Dashboard’ also I’m wanting to surprise him with a vinyl copy of this album but can’t find it anywhere. Please guys help me out here! Thank you for your contribution to music!
Your a really really great bluegrass band. You boys remain me of seldom Sean country gentleman and the former group northern lights. My favorite song you do is Elton Johns Rocketman followed by Matterhorn. Hopefully I will get to see you in concert. You are definitely the greatest thing to come out of CMH records
Just saw that you guys are coming to Merlefest 2021.
I look forward to hearing y'all live!
Can't wait till you're at Burette Museum in Huntsville AL on June 18. We are long time fans of Iron Horse Bluegrass. It just doesn't get any better.
I grew up with AC/DC, and Metallica and as a young adult was aware of Modest Mouse. I heard your AC/DC covers in the early 2000s. It was fun. Your Metallica gave me great joyful laughs. But the Modest Mouse- you heard something there that I had missed, and gave me a new perspective on contemporary music. Through you I found a poet- a gift that is rare. Your take on MM is still powerful to me to this day, but moreover, it gave me a love of bluegrass, which I've done into over the years. Much gratitude, thank you for your art and the teaching and illumination you do with it.
I am a great-admirer of Iron Horse' great music and ability to entertain! Surely the band's tremendous musical legacy will not be complete without doing a The Who tribute album!!
Just found you on YouTube, great sound
Hi
Are you considering a tour in the UK when the world is back on an even keel
Just discovered ya! WOW Hope to see ya live sometime.
I love your songs, esp. Rocket Man, hope you'll come to Europe to see you live!
I saw Iron Horse at Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Festival, Bean Blossom Indiana in 2019. I loved your music and your version of Rocket Man blew me away! Today I was sorting through my CDs and found The Gospel According to Hank Williams and was surprised when I saw that it was performed by your group. The versatility of Iron Horse is amazing. Looking forward to seeing you again when we have our concerts and festivals back.
Been listening since @2004. Hero of the day is without a doubt my favorite song ever!! It’s haunting. I love how when I feel overwhelmed I hear this song in my head and it invigorates me. Just moved to the east coast, and I can’t wait till you are playing again!!
Wow! Just saw your You Tube rendition of Rocket Man. Elton John would be proud. I've loved blue grass since I was a lad, my Aunts, Uncles and Grandfather would get together and sing and play! Will be buying your album and would love to see you in person if this Covid thing gets under control Rock on my Friends /S/ A 72 year old retired Navy Master Chief.
I love bluegrass, I love your music!!! You guys are the best of the best. I may live in South Carolina but my hillbillie roots are in Tennessee. Yee-Haw
